What a difference an ASDSL filter makes

I always had a filter on the router, but I thought I put one on the sky box downstairs, wow my download speed went up from 530Kbs to 1.2Mbs, I never thought I would ever get that speed, I was pleased with 530Kbs as that was the fastest I've had before lol.

    1.2MB/s doesn't match your speedtest.

Your getting 19.5Mb, divide that by 8 to get the number in MB (Notice the capital letters).

You should download at 2.5MB but that could be due to a number of reasons outside your control (e.g. Download server).

But yes, it's recommened you filter everything that uses a phone socket for less attenuation which is why you saw that speed increase. I'm suprised it's that much though.

I was very surprised it made that much difference. I've updated the router FW so now it's a bit faster now too.
